I sometimes do computer repair for friends of mine. I got the skill while I was at college and running a computer workshop several years before I had the job I’m currently working. I do it as a hobby. Bringing a PC into it’s normal life always gives me satisfaction, and undoubtedly, so does it to my friends.
The most common problems with my friends’ PC are broken operating system, crashed hard drives, and just simply missing device drivers. For the first two I usually reinstall the operating system after inspecting and repairing the cause of the problems. But then comes another problem when it’s time to install the device drivers, my friends don’t have the CD that usually came with the PC on purchasing. They just don’t know that the CD is so important that it should be kept.
Fortunately, I have bookmarked my favorite Windows device driver resource site on my Internet browser. This website provides Windows device driver for various device models and manufacturers.
I always tell my friends to keep the driver files just in case another problem occurs to their PC. You should keep yours, too. But if you lost your PC’s driver CD or installation files, you know where to find the drivers.
