old-telephone Dokumentasi merupakan hal penting dalam sejarah. Saya jadi tahu tentang hari kemerdekaan Indonesia dan suasana saat pembacaan naskah proklamasi karena ada dokumennya, tanpa saya harus mengalami dan menyaksikannya sendiri.

Namun ketika membaca tulisan Mas Kuncoro tentang siapa sejatinya penemu telepon pertama, saya jadi berpikir, bukan cuma dokumentasi yang menjadi penentu cerita sejarah. Sistem dokumentasi hak paten yang saat itu sudah berkembang di Amerika pun tidak memihak Antonio Meucci sebagai penemu telepon, sehingga selama ini saya anggap Alexander Graham Bell-lah penemu telepon itu seperti yang saya pelajari waktu masih duduk di bangku SD dulu.
